THE CROPS.-The weather tza continued unln terruptedly hot during the past week, and com plaints are made that some of the growing cotton In thlB vicinity has been damaged by the exces? sive heavand where corn has not had sufficient rain to DU lt out, will suffer injury by. the dry weather and Intense warmth; but generally the prevailing atmosphere should be favorable to the cotton niant, and it has no doubt progressed satisfactorily in the time under review. The temperature lately has been of an extreme character, even for this season and latitude, the thermometer ranging above 90 for over a week. THE RECEIPTS.-The arrivals at the cotton ports for the week ending on Friday last were 15,386 bales, against 18,468 the week before and 9474 last season. At New Orleans the receipts were 6900 ba os, In contrast with 2145 the week of the year previous. The total supplies at tue cotton ports from September 1,18-0, up to the latent mall dates, 'were 3,940.806 bales, against 2,859,700 the season . before, showing an Increase of 1.081,106 bales.
