THE CROPS.-The weather has beeu warjn and
generally favorable during this period, with a
continuation of satisfactory r?pons from the in?
terior of this State, but the news from many parts
oft be Southwest do not encourage the prospector
a good cottou growth. The New Orleans Colton
Exchange report, to June 25, gives a diminished
acreage of ten to forty per cent, in the South?
west, and a less yield per acre. The intelligence
Indicates a large Increase of the grain crop In
most districts.
THE RECEIPTS.-The arrivals at the cotton ports
for the week up to Friday last were 18,19? bales,
against 22,654 the week before, and 11,709 for the
period last season. At New Orleans the receipts
were 6202 bales, In contrast with 4671 the week or
last year. The total supplies arthe cotton ports
from September 1, 1870, up to the latest mall
dates, were 3,833,319 bales, against 2,831,549 the
year previous, 6howlng an Increase or 1,051,770
bale?. The receipts at the chler Southern mar?
kets from September 1, 1870, up to the latest tele?
graphic intelligence, as compared with the year
before, were as follows:

CORN.-The arrivals amounted to about 25,000
bushels-all from Baltimore. Two cargoes com?
mon white North Carolina, received previously,
were sold, say one of 3300 bushels on private
terms, and the second at 90c ft bushel, both in
bulk. Jobbing lots of prime white may be quoted

OATS.-There were some 3300 bushels or this
