THE CROrs.-Tl c weatther was. during a part
of this time, unsettled and wet. Interfering with
cotton picking, but later was dry and pleasant
the temperature did not, however, shpw any
important change, being g-nerally moderate.
THB?BCBIFT?.-The arrivals at the cotton ports
for the week terminating on Friday las were the
heaviest of the season up to this time, say 152,321
bales, ag'ilnst 140,674 thc week before, and 100,
348 bales for the corresponding time thc year
previous. At New Orleans the receipts were 57,114
bales lu contrast w;;*u 32,11a bales the year be?
fore. The total arrivals at the cotton ports from
September l, 1870, to the latest mall dates were
1,209,402 bales, against 997,469 bales last season,
showing an increase of 211,933 bales.
The supplies received at the principal South
ern markets from September 1,1870, up to the
latest telegraphic Intelligence, as contrasted with
