ness all offered was rendOy taken-closing at 42
cents for Southern packages, being an advance of
fully 3 cents. To-day,- (Thursdav ) however, theta
is some onliness in the market, occasioned by
adverse news from abroad, and prices tend down?
ward, sales having been made at 41 cents. Re-'
ceipts are. light, and bat little stock remains m
first hands, o '
ROSIN.-During the week Just ended the market
for the lower grades has ruled steady and Arm,
with a good demand. Very little, however..bas
been done m the way of sales, the parcels offered
on market being generally held above the views
of buyers-closing firm at $1 GO for strained, and
$1 60ai 80 for No. 2. For the medium and noe
grades of No. 1 there haabeen scarcely, any, de,
maud, and only a few scattering lots have chang*'
ed hands-buyers unwilling to operate unless at
lower prices, which factors refuse to accept, and i
do not press sales. For nae pale some inquiry s
exists, but there ls scarcely any offering, and lt ls
held at high figures.
