TEE CKOrs.-The very threatening weather
which prevailed having continued so long with
ont a severe blow, there ls a prospect that the sea
son may go by without this misfortune. The
atmosphere has been cool, bnt harvesting has
generally progressed for mach or the time favor
ably, and complaints have not been serious from
any quarter. The size of the cropB now depends
upon dry weather and a late rall. A wet and un?
settled spell existed yesterday.
TBS RECK:rTS.-The arrivals at the cotton ports
rof the week up to Friday last, were 17,980 bales,
in entrust with tl,104 the week before, and 26,.
799 for the period last season. At New Orleans

SEA ISLAND COTTON.-The receipts have contin?
ued very light, say 19 bags. The market has re?
mained quiet, and the only transaction was 2
bags ol new sea Island cotton, classed medinm,
at 60c r ft- Quotations are omitted until further
arrivals and transactions.
RICE.-The supplies coming forward have been
limited, and were about 6000 bushels for the week.
These arrivals have mostly been placed on the
market as soon as miiled, and have brought the
fallowing figures : 23 tierces good clean Carolina
a: s> 9 ft; 50 tierces good a; 6% ; 20 do at 8%; 70
at 8 7-16; 15 do lair at 6j4'c fl ft. The operations
are still on too limited a scale to establish prices.
NAVAL STORES.-The market has been dall dur?
ing most 01 the week, and holders Bell but slowly
ia consequence of the unsatisfactory prices. The
arrivals have been to a fair extent, anl were
about 1500 bbH far the week. The transactions
were 150 bbls spirits turpentine, at 313 fi gallon;
143 bbls extra No l rosin at $225a2 75; 17 bbls low
No 1 do at $170al 80; 52 bbls extra No 2 and
Opaque at $1 50.
HAY.-The nrrlvals have been about 260 bales of
Eastern qualities. The market has been quiet,
and we note sales or 2C0 bales of Eastern at $1 58
per hundred. A lot or North River was e.ld to
arrive at $145 per hundred.
CORN.-There have been no receipts of impor?
tance. The market has been quiet, with a light
retail trade. Sellers were yesterday generally
holding at $130 71 bushel, weight, sacks included,
far prime white. There is bat a limited Inquiry far
common corn.
OATS.-Hiere ls a fair supply or this grain in
the hands or dealers, with a limited jobbing busi?
ness at 70a76c V bushel, weight, sacks, included.
FLOUR.-There is a good supply of moat grades
if this article. The Inquiry ls to a moderate extent,
?nd we quote Northern and Western prime at $6 75
