of bishop Lynch mci nt his residence, In Urond
street, to bid him farewell before bis departure to
attend the (lieu men leal Connell at Rome. After a
pleasing interchange of greetings, M. P. O'Con?
nor, Esq., on behalf nf those present, presented
the Bishop with a handsome purse, the donation
of some of thc members of his diocese, and a tes?
timonial or their regard and good wishes. Mr.
O'Connor alluded to tho desolation that over?
spread tho diocese al the close or tho war, and
showed Hint through the arduous labors of the
Bishop much or tho ruin or thc past had already
been repaired. In bidding adieu upon thin occa?
sion, the pleasing duty wat devolved upon him
to present a testimonial which was thc free will

The Bishop rccllngly responded, thanking them
for their girt. Though his labors bad been ardu?

been done, but more remained to do. He only
trusted that his health would bo equal to tho task.

his diocese In April or May lu renewed health and

TIVK CLUB.-A meeting of this Organization was
held last evening at Oppenheim'* Hall, corner or
King and Hudson streets. It was largely attended
by the belier class or colored citizens, and several
addresses were mode urging co-operation In thc
movement, and showing the evil results or Radi?
cal government. The following preamble and
resolutions were unanimously adopted:

Charleston being now convinced of the corrup?
tion, extravagance and inefficiency of the present

ered that under the disguise of doing good to thc
colored people, strangers have come here only lo
advance their own personal interests, tun having
