Yesterday, through the courtesy of Major Geo, Burroughs, engineer of the sixth lighthouse dis? trict, we had an opportunity of inspecting the puma and speciflcatlona for tbeae range lights, which wUl be placed upon" Morris island, hear Lighthouse Inlet. The first light will be about twenty-two feet high, and the other; located five hundred yarda distant, about thirty-seven feet In height, and when placed can be seen from the dock of a ahlp twelve miles ou;.. At present vessels arriving off the bar at night F generally have to remain until morning, as te at Pa^empt to cross the bar in the dark would be ^kmewhat rlaky. Petition or Charles Phillips, of Darlington, for Anal discharge in bankruptcy, was referred to Registrar carpenter, and final hearing ordered to take place at Columbia, on the 26th of November. In the case of Louis Mc Lain vs. Ed. W. Sea? brook, petition to sell choses In action, lt was or? dered that the said Louis McLaln, assignee, have leave to offer the said choses In action at public auction. ' The court then adjourned. ., THU OUSTED CITY OFFICERS.-It will bt lomem bered that Chief Justice Moses recently ordered v. J.Coogan, M. O. Camplin, colored, George Addison and M. Caulfield, who held the offices respectively of Assessor, Assistant Assessor, City Sheriff and Flour Inspector, to vacate them, and to have no? thing to do with the duties of thc ?nices, books, papers, Ac, on pain of contempt of court; also that when these onicera did meddle with thc said books, papers and duties' of said offices, either as officers pro tem., or while the offices were dur?rent ly styled, the counsel for Messrs. W. N. Hughes, Assessor, C. P. Frazer, Assistant Assessor, P. C. Querry, City Sheriff, and C. N. Averill Flour Inspector, notified the ousted offi? cials, who, acting under instructions of Council, were meddling with said offices, that on tho 20th of this month Chief Justice Moses, at Sumter, would be requested to grant a rule to mako them show cause why they should not be attached for contempt of court Ut.not complying with the order of court. , . Shortly after the reoeptlon of the dispatch, the Captain bad Hunter arrested,' and ndw hos him in charge. Hunter is the little clog dancer of the troupe, In which Une be ls Inimitable. In a conversation with himAt the Guardhouse yesterday, he, after giving us a specimen of his "heel and toe," "double shuf? fle, V "pigeon wing," and a variety of other fancy movements, told us his history as follows: "I am eleven years old, an? was born In Albany, N. A VALUABLE FBUTIUZEB.-We las ne this morn lng a supplement containing a number of letters from planters and others, in which they express their opinion of the famous ''Soluble Pacific Guano," for which Mr. J. N.^Robson, of thia city, ls tbs agent. The supplement also contains some valuable information In regard to the operations of the pacific Guano Company, whose works at Charleston cost nearly two hundred thous md dbliars. But the point which most concero.* farmer in buying fertilizers, is cheapness com? bined with emelen cy. The costly eic rn cht in the Pacific Soluble Guano is the ammonia, the sop, ply of which is limited in quantity. Without lt the guano ls useless, and lt bas been the endeav or of the Pacific Guano .Company to make avail able, hitherto unused supplies of organic matter containing ammonia. Cotton seed is found to contain a large percentage of ammoniacal mat? ter, as well as carbonic acid, another Important solvent. The Pacific Guano Company are now making "a compound acid phosphate of lime, which ls Identical with the Soluble Pacific, except that lt contains no ammonia. This ts to be com posted wltji cotton seed, resulting in a saving to the planter,' lt ls claimed; of about thirty per cent. The whole details may be found In the suppl?ment. Mr. J. N.
