The society has offered premiums embrac
ing nearly everything valuable in agricultural
And mechanical Industry, art. science and

Annual members shall exhibit articles with
out chargCi and have free access to tbe Fair
Grounds during Fair week.
' Persons will be admitted for fifty cents each
dav during the continuance of the Fair.
The charge Tor admission or vehicles-will be
as follows : Coaches, carriages, omtilbusses,
Ac, (the inmates paying for personal admis
sion,) $1; buggies, 50 cents.
Children under twelve years of age wjfl be
admitted with half tickets.
All delegates from State Agricultural socle
ties, Mechanics' Institutes, reporters, Ac, will
receive a ticket upon application at the secre
tary's offlqe, which -will admit them free, of
charge and entitle them to tho privilege' of
the grounds during the Fair week.

The secretary's office will be opened at Co^
lumbia on tho 3d of November, for the purpose
or receiving entries.
Persons intending to become exhibitors at
tho next Fair, are desired to forward their en
tries to the secretary; D. Wyatt Alken, Colum
bia, 8. C, alter the 2d or November, which
will grcntly facilitate business and prevent
confusion in the halls and on the grounds or
the society, and disappointment .to exhibitors,
which is chiefly the result or delay.
All exhibitors at tbe Fair roust huvc their ani
mals or articles entered at tho secretary's of
Uco belore Hiking them Into the enclosure.
All who Intend to compete for tho premiums
of the society must have their articles on the
grouud, aud entered at the secretary's office,
at or befofo 6 o'clock on Tuesday evening, the
9lh of November, without full, so that they
may be arranged in their respective depart
ments, and In readiness for examination by
the Judges on Wednesday morning, tttu lOlli
of November, at 0 o'clock. Animals may be
entered at any lime previous to' 9 o'clock on
Wednesday morning.
Ladies are particularly requested to attach
cards to their articles, naming the department
In which they wish them to be classed, aud If
not embraced by any of tho departments In
the premium list, class them as miscellaneous

The regulations of the society must be strict
ly observed by the exhibitors, otherwise tho
society will uot be responsible for the omission
of any article or anltpal not, properly entered
under its regulations.
No article or animal entered for u premium
can be removed or taken away before the close

Tho Judges on uni mais will have regard to
the symmetry, early maturity, thorough breetl
ing and characteristics of the breeds which
they Judge. They will make proper allowances
for the- age, fending nnd condition of the ani
mals, especially In breeding classes. They are
required not to glvo encouragement to ov er

No stock of Inferior quality shall be admitted
within, tho grounds; and, if any shall by ac
cident be admitted, a committee shall be ap
