The Daffodils.
I win ier M lonely aa B cloud
Th?! floats on high o'er ra?ca and nilla,
When ali st onco I taw a crowd,
A host of gold, ii daffodils.
Betide tko lako beneath tho treen.
Fluttering and dinting In Ibo br?ete.
Oontlnnoni an tho stare that ables
And twtofclo on tho milky way.
They alreicb'd lo novor-ondlng lino
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten tbouaand aaw I at a glance
Total ru-, their beads in sprightly dance.
The wares betide them danced, but they
Oatdld tho a parki! ng wares In glee:
A poet could not but be gay
In such a Jocund company I
1 araard-and gazed-but little thought
What wealth tbe ahow to me bad brough) ;
For oft, when on my couch I Ile,
In Tarant OT in peotlve mood,
They Hath upon lhat Inward eye

And then my hoazt with pl eta ure fills,
And dsn oca with the daffodils.

The receipts of cotton at this port hive been
large, considering to early a period in the season.
Indeed, when we compare them with those of our
Bister Southern cities, we find that the Forest City of
Georgia is first and loremoat, sot only in receipts,
but st Ibo same time comparing favorably with any
seaport in prices obtained tor the raw material. We
do not use this aa a stimula for those who seek to
seiid cotton elsewhere, but by reference lo Prices
Current, and reporta recel vrd dally from other mar?
keta, we can aately assert that our market offer* to
planters and others engage 1 in the cot'011 trade,

porls.
Mo far the bnslnosa doing has been principally for
Northern account, the transactions In short ralea
having be?-n discontinued in consequence of thc high

A s regard s staple and quality of the cotton so for

dearance ol the o tton ts not - so good at night be

to thia time, however, compare favorably with that
