The census of tho City of Charleston, taken by authority of the ?oneral Assembly, is now complete, and we aro ablo at last to form some idea or tho changes which have taken Dlaoe sinos 1860 in the character of the population. Before giving the tabled which show the popu? lation of tho different wards, we would call attention to tho toot that the total population of the city is now 44.952, against a population of 40,522 in 1860. This is a fair IBQTBMO, but is made up by the migration to the city of country negroes, for tho city has r > 8210 less white inhabitants and 7640 more ned inhabitants than it had in 1860. The v.hale increase, therefore, is in the colored popula? tion, there being a rather greater increase of females than ol males. Tho total number of whiles in tho city is 20166, of whom 9671 are malos and 10 49? femal 'B.
