BBB Caora.-The growing crops in this vicinity
have received an atapl? supply of ratn during the
-?reek, and such vegetation .as stool ia need of water
has been, in a measure, resuscitated, fears being ,
sow entertained that the future may bring too
aau b moisture. The corn crop has on uplands in
many section* proved a ?allure, while bottom lands
will produce well. Upland cotton has contluued to
progress favorably, and appearances up to this
time indicate a full average yield, while sea inland
cotton has a wholesome look, but has, however, tho
unpleasant prospect bf teing devoured by the cater?
pillar. Nothing additional has transpired in infer?
ence to ?his dreaded insect, the reports mentioning
that it bod appeared on James', John's and Faisto
Islands and other spots in this vicinity, but had not
done much injury np to the latest intelligence. The
rice crop i? rapidly approaching harvest,* with favor?
able prospects of a better prodact than last year.
