unfavorably upon tho coru crop, we were

The . Walhalla Courier soys : Since . our last
isbue we have had an opportunity in passing
through the country to see and-hear reports of
tbe coming crops. Wheat is' 'universally ad?
mitted to DO better than fox ten years past.
The area seeded is probably less than usual,
but the yield is calculated to prove larger and
tho quality better than heretofore. Some per?
sons are nOw' harvesting, abd even the latest
grade of wheat is beyond danger from usual
depreciating causes. Bye is also go >d, but oats
is hardly common, being low and generally
thin from bad seed. No one but an eye wit?
ness could realize the great improvement in
oom and cotton during tbe past few weeks of
warm and seasonable weather. The farmers
are well tip with their work and with good
summer seasous indicates for this county an
