They- are . j quite common in New Orleans, and are kept constantly for sale in tho shops. It shows what can be done with this new plant. We believe its cultivation has been entered upon in various parts of Louisiana on a large, scale and with very gratifying prospects of succ?s*. TRINITY CHTJBOR SUNDAY SCHOOL.-The ded? ication of the new Sunday School room of Trioity Church, on Sunday afternoon, was the occasion of a delightful entertainment, con? sisting of singing and addresses. The school ? is in a prosperous condition, the average at? tendance being larger than at any time since '?hewar. Under the careful training, ol Mr. ' H. M. Edmonds, of Rihway, ' N. Bryan, United States District Judge, been overruled by the Ciropit Court, and io thia one'instance it waa, we be? lieve, a modification and not a reversal of the decree of the lower court. To conform to the mannerof designating the juries, in substanoe, to the laws and usages now m foioe in the State of South Carolina, ordered, ' 1. That the Clerk of tho Circuit Court, and the Marshal ot the United States for the Dis? trict of South Carolina, do make up a jury list from tho State at large, of three hundred names of oitizana, qualified under the laws of | the ?tato ot South Carolina to serve in the highest courts of the State, in whioh juries are need, iu the following manner, to wit: They, shall call upon the several Collectors of internal Revenue of the several Collection Dis? tricts in the State of South Carolina, to fur? nish each, from the several counties in their respective districts, the names 01 one hundred Citizens, to be selected hy them, and suob as they think well qualified to serve as jurors, being persons of good moral character, sound judgment and free from all legal exceptions; Provided. ?f any one o? the said Collectors ot Internal Revenue Bhail, after thirty days' no? tice. in writing, from the derk and marshal, neglect or refuse to furnish the list of .names, as hereinbelore provided, then the clerk add marshal shall proceed to soleet a hst of Jurors, from the several counties in tho collection district of the collector neglecting or refusing1 to furnish a list as aforesaid. 2. Of the lists made up as aforesaid, clerk and marshal shall cause the names , written, eaob one on a separate paper or ballot, | and shall roll up ul fold tho ballots BO aa to re? semble each other as muob as possible, and BO that the names written theiein .shall not be visible oh the outside, and they shall place the ballots in a box to be kept by the clerk for that purpose. This box shall bo securely looked and sealed, and only opened At tun time and for the purp iso of drawing jurors.1 The list of J jurors and the box as thus misdo up shall be the. -list and box out of which jurors shall be drawn for the year ensuing. 3. ' When jurors are to be drawn the derk and marshal shall attend at the derk's office or some other public placo appointed for the pur? pose by a jadge of the court. A jury hat shall be made up in the man? ner herein indicated,, during tho months of | April and May, annually; Provided, that th jury list for the preseut year shall be made up as BOOL aa praotioable after tho paesage of this order. Grand and petit jurors to serve at any sta led term of the court, whotber at Charles Ion or at Columbia, shall be drawn, and. sum? mons therefor laaued, at least fifteen days be? fore tbe commencement thereof. 7. No more .than . thirt\-one persons, to serve ns petit jurors, or nineteen to serve us errand jurors, shall bo drawn and summoned to at? tend, afc one and tbe same time, any court, un? less tho court shall otherwise order. 8. When by reason ot challenge or other wido, a sufficient number of jurors dui v drawn and summoned cannot be obtained for tho trial ot any cause, civil or criminal,, tho Court shall forthwith causo jar irs to be returned from the bystanders to complete tbe panel. The jurors in attendance at any teim of the court shall be empandled in the same manner as provided by tho .laws of the State of South Carolina. 11.
