leave the Charleston depot on Mondays, Wednesdays
and fridays, at 6 o'clock A. M., and return from

o'clock P. M. and reach the depot on tbi- side at 6
o'clock P. M._
BILL OF MOBTALXTT.-The mortuary report
of the City Registrar, for the week ending on the
3d inst, ?hows soventeen deaths, twelve of whom
were colored persons. Seven under 5 years, one be.

tween 40 and 60, one between 60 and 70, and three
between 70 and 90 years. There is one case of
death from neglect, and that a colored male.
DISSOLUTION OF COPABTSEKSHIP.-A change
has taken place in the finn of Ufferhirdt, Campeen
k Co. Mr. Braning retires, and tbe business ls con?
ducted at the old aland by Mr. William TJfferbardt
and Henry Campeen, under tbe firm name of ?ffer
hardt k Campsen. These gentlemen are well and
favorably known, and we doubt not that, in renew
lng their partnership as established nineteen years
ago, they will continue to do a large and remunera

ready secured an annual revenue from premiums on
existing policies of nearly $500,000 (Five Hun?
dred Thousand Dollars). Its new husmeas for the
month of December was $72,393 36, insuring the
amount of $1,157,000. Its new business for tbe
month of January was $86,524 71, insuring the
amount of $1,649,000.
One month's business being greater than tbat done
by the largest and wealthiest Life Insurance Compa?
nies in the United States during the entire first
year of their existe no?.
The Association was first started by (be most
wealthy and influential citizens of St. Louis, for
thc purpose of changing the current of Life Insur?
ance and Life Insurance capital from the East to
the West aud South, and as its plan is libera! and
just to every section, State and district, the wealthy
men of the West and Sou h generally are insuring
their lives in it, to the exclusion of other companies.
This is sbown by the fact that the policies issued
during the months of December and Jan nary are of
an averange amount of $7.368 42, drawing an aver?
