FATAL AOC DENT.-We learn that Mr. Honry
B. Lucas, Jr., whi.e on his plantation, Spring Hill,
in St. thomas Parish, was accidentally shot on tho
morning ol the 1st instant by tko pr mature dis
ohargo ol a pistol, causing bis instant death. The
particulars of this deplorable accident have not yet
roaohed his friends in the city.

FBA DIAVOLO.- The theatre, last night, was
well filled, although not so crowded as it would
doubtless haye boen ai any other soasin. Fra Di
avolo was better put upon ibo Btage than wo could
bavo expected. There were tko usual cutting? to
which we have to submit, but wo must outer a pro
text against tho omission of Agars la Jouvencelle.
The oichestra was generally well in haud, iv ver
lacking in energy, brit wanting often lu delicaoy of
accompaniment, tiles Clara Lang, as Zorltna, sang
with especial sweetness in the F?cond act, and Mad.

lent taste and with considerable Bkill. Dimmer,
as Fra Diavolo, displayed his usual energy and
mooillty of features. Ho wanted graoe lu the first
act, but cong the broad phrase? of the grand air, in

The make up of the two brigands was capital, and
their acting and singing excellent. Lord Allcaah
(having abandoned the traditional B i tr eh white coat
and pearl buttons) sang with great ability all that
was left to him. Lorenzo (the captain Jeuks of the
opera) looked pretty and marched well. Upon the
