Thursday.-Market opened to-day with very good
inquiry. Advices from- New York and Liverpool
eau-cd our market to close firm, with middling at
23>?a233?c. Lower gradea much neglected, /he
following were the sales of the day: 5 bales at 24Kc,
2 at 24. 89 at 23%, 118 at 23?,'. 57 at 23'i, 364 at 23 ?4',
284 at 23, 92 at 22;;. 22 at 22, 26 at 21, and 4 at 20
total 1203 bales. Se t Island-Inquiry light. Sales
12 bags at 63c, and 17 at 62-total 2? bags.
?2A ISLANDS.-lhere has been a mod?rete but
Bteady demand during the week, and thc sales
amount to 130 bags, at about our last quotation.*,
which wo renew at foot. The transac'ioua have been
principally in the lower grades, at 55a65c, taken
chiefly by Northern bryers; bat there ia also a fair
inquiry tor medium fine ard flue for English and
French orders. Tho receipts tor the week are 229
bags, against 527 bags at the same period last year,
but advices from thc country aro such as to cause
rather a lower than hi-jher ?an.;e of estimates. In
C"aroliu;i it is believed that at least one-half of thc
crop has already bacn received; iu Florida, one-half
to throe-fourths, while a smaller proporti n of thc
Georgia crop bas been sent in for want of merits for
setting it out. We quote: Fine, per lb, asking price
51; mrdinm fine, salea nt 80a9P; medium, sales at 05
?75; common. salas at 53aC0.
The receipts at this port since thc Sd inst, amount
to 12,146 bales upland, of which 13.374 wore received
per Central Baili oad, 1458per Atlantic and Gull Rail?
road. C33 from landings on the Savaunah River, and
220 ba'cs trom Florida. The exports for the same
Lime have boen4634 bales upland atid 1*9 bales sea
?aland, of which 2203 bales uplaDj were shipped to
