The article at New \ork has stiffened from 15*@ 15*@16c. $ lb. for New York Middling, and the staple here, which, at the commencement of the week, was quoted at 14*@14*c. $ lb. for Middling Uplands, advanced to 14*@14*c, and closed yester? day at 16c. 9 Its for this grade. The arrivals of the staple have been 644 balea of Sea Islands and Floridas, mostly the latter, 9G46 bales of Upland Cotton, against 485 bales of Sea Island and Hondas and 9141 bales of Upland the week bo fore, and 17C bales of Sea Islands and Floridas and 5462 bales of Upland Cotton for the corresponding w eek last year. HAY.-The receipts cf this article for tbe week have been light, and. holders are asking firm prices, say about Sl.CO for North Biver, and S1.70@1.75 for Eastern. Some 700 bales Nort'.i Biver qualities came to hand yesterday. MOLASSES.-A part of a cargo of Cuba Clayed Molasses, new crop, received lately, was sold duriu : the week to the t mount of 150 hhds., part at 45c. per gallon, and tbe balance on private terms. CORN.-The arrivals have been 3600 bushels, in bulk, from North Carolina, and fair supplies from the interior by rail. The North Carolina shipment was sold at SI 30 fl bushel, bulk weight, and for Georgia and Tennessee receivers are generally offer? ing at SI 20(3126 t? bushel, weight, bagB included. Tho demand continues quite moderate, and almost entirely for the local trade. An arrival yesterday brought 4000 bushels from North Carolina and IOHO bushels from Baltimore. OATS.-There has been but light supplies of this grain received. The transactions have been almost entirely in a retail way, and we learn of no whole? sale operations. About 5000 bushel? came to hand yesterdoy irom Baltimore. FLOUR.-There is only a limited local trade in this article, and the transactions, arc almost entirely of a retail kind; quotations during the week contin? ued without Important alteration. We quote North? ern and Western Super at SH bbl., Northern and Western Extra at SH 75@12 ? bbl., and Family at $18@14 $ bbl. Southern qualities are in light sup? ply, and are selling in small quantities at $12 ? bbl. for Super, S13 ? bbl. for Extra, and $14 bbl. for Family.
