somewhat lower than previous quotations, but during
the forenoon information came to hand that the rates
had fallen &d. in the English market, which intelligence
lessoned the demand and caused prioes to drop about

yesterday's quotations, continuing so until the receipt of
dispatches from New York and Liverpool, showing a de?

prices, which' were in some cases accepted. The market
closed unsettled, at pnces so irregular that we only

full course of lectures, lt has also u summer session,
commencing the 1st April aud continuing until August,
for the preparatory branches, such us Latin, Orook,
Mathematics, Botany, Zoology. Chemistry-, Aualoiny
Physiology, etc.
Tickets.-Ticket * to the full coursu of lectures $120. or
S60 for each session. Per tho summer or preparatory
coursu $25. Orauduttug lee $30. To aid young mci '
moderate means, the University has Issued live hundred
scholarships, which are sold to first-course studeuls for
$76. and to second-course students and clergymen for
$60, each constituting the bolder a life member, with the
perpetual privileges of the lectures, and all the teaching

secting and matriculating ticket, each of which ls $5.
The Advantages of Scholarships.-The student holding a
scholarship can outer thc CoUege at any time during the
year, attend as long as he chooses, and rtventer the insti?
tution as frequently as de.ired.
lt requires no previous reading or study to enter thc
University on scholsrships, hence, all prtvato tnitiou fees
ure saved.
Students, by holding scholarships, can prosecute other

The candidate for graduation can present himself at
any time, and receive nie degree assoou as qualified.
In case a stuoent should hold a scholarship and not be
able to sttend lectures, it csu be transferred to another,
thus preventing any loss.
Parents, guardians or friends of studonts wishing to
?ir chase scholarship for them a year or more bet?re
sir attendance at tho University, ran secure thom by
advancing one-half the price and paying the balance
when the studont enters. Physicians and benevolent
men can bestow great bonefit upou poor young men by
presenting thom a scholarship, and thus enabling thom
to obtain an honorable profession.
The Faculty embraces soventeen eminent physicians
and surgeons. The University liss associated with it a
large hospital clinic, wheie every form of medical sud

Ninth street, south of Walnut, ls the finest in the city.

eighty feet, and crowned with au embattled parapet.
Tbe building contains between fifty and sixty rooms, all
supplied with water, gas, and every other convenience
that modern improvement can contribute to facilitate
medical Instruction. Only five hundred scholarships
will be issued, aud os two hundred and fifty are now
sold, those who wish to stcure one should do so at once.
