Another Accident.?We sro pained lo record
tho andden demise or a uiuull black dog with a
curly tail, who camo to his untimely end by vio

The New Custom House.?Tho workmen aro
still busily engaged ou (his building, hut their

The Street Railway?Obakoe of Schedule,?
Tho publie aro requested to notico the change
that will take placo on Monday, the 7th test., iu t
the schedule of tbo Streut Railway. It will be seon
that on the last trip tho cars will leave tho lower <
terminas at 9} P. M. This change, while it will 1
benefit the public, will be no less accoptablo lo
tho employees of tho road. Few persons remain
at business daring tho season to that late hour,
and tho pleasure passengers are low and far be
tween. Tho abort days and long evenings of win
ter are fast approaching, and tho 6trente will bo
comparatively deserted by all but n few stragglers.
In former years the curfew's solemn knell an
nounced tho cloao of day, and tho hour whon good
and honest citizens should BPek thoir homes. Its
eound ia no longor heard, but tho tinkle of tbo
car bolls has taken its place, nnd will serve to
warn tbo belated citizen of ihe flight of timo.
Advertising: ir tu? Stbeet Cars. -Some months
since tho Cor, t pin y notified tho public that thoy
would allow them tho privilege of using tho panels
of the cars for their business advertisements.
For a long time m>-uTcrs were made, Imt tho op
portunity to display in advertisement, so that all
who run may read was loo tempting lo be ne
glected, and some of the panels have boon taken
by prominent bnaiuOBs houses. Messrs. Btoi.i,,
Webb A Co., and J. 11. Reap & Co., of Kiug street
fame, have a centre) pnnel in each ear; while, on
the opposite Hide, the wheelbarrow of Mr. Hiram
Habbih is trundling along, announcing that job
printing and book binding can bu dono at his es
tablishment. Wliile Ihis .system of advertising
destroys the pictures.pie appearance of the cars,
it cannot fail lo attract attention, and will in nil
probability become exceedingly popular among
tho merchants.
