The New York Commeraal Adverluer, of Friday,
July 5th, says:
Honey continues to increase in ease. There is very

is generally 5 per cent on new loans, and 4 per cent on

Dry Goods Market.
The improved tone of the domestic dry goods market,
which we noticed last week, still continues, but does not
continue to improve. A steady market, however, ls toe
most d?sirable condition for classes-manufacturera,
jobbers and retailers ; for steadiness of prices is the moet
conducive to a healthy trade, and the best for consumers.
In unbleached shirtings and sheetings there has been
i rather better demand, but not a positive activity, and
no great change can be looked for In the first week of j
July, which la always given up to holiday enjoyments.
The finer qualities of shirtings and sheetings, for bleach?
ing? bare been to better demand. Ihe stock of bleached
gooda In the hands of the commission houses is some?
what reduced, and the demand has been more active,
and will doubtless Improve ss the season sd vano es and
the condition of the crops st the South is placed beyond
contingent disasters.
Heavy dribs of tho better qualities are In good demand,
and cosset jeans are still in moderate request The im?
portations ot thia kind of goods hsvo boen large, but the
market will be nearly supplied hereafter by our own
manufacturers. The price of printing cloths in the gray
are rather too high to induce aol ive purchases. Nine
cents is about the top of the market for toe best standard
quality.
Seasonable prints of light styles are not quite as active
i they have been. It is the transition period for prints.
Tho summer styles are pretty well cleared out, and tho
dark lal.' patterns have not yet come from the manufac?
turers. Gingium? of good styles remain firm, but for the
I inferior quail tie* there la very little inquiry. Rolled
jaconets, cambrics and printed lawns are in good de?
mand, and the stock of each kind is comparatively light
m first hands.
The market for foreign dry goods of sU grades is re
I mar tab ly quiet, and no change la anticipated before the
latter part of July. The importations are very light, and
must remain so for some weeks, as the orders have been
kept back to watt for the developments of our financial
. amara and the developments of the crops.-.V. T. Inde

I have been for a year or more peat in the habit ol
taking the water of the "Excelsior" Spring of Saratoga,
Accustomed during the great portion of my invalid lite
to nae the different waters of tho several fountains which
boil np along that remarkable valley, dependent, indeed,
upon them tor much of the comfort I enjoy, I am satis?
fied that the Excelsior Water is aa well adapted aa any

which they are generally employed. It ts very agreeable,
strongly impregnated with the carbonic acid, lively and
sparkling. . . * I can heartily and conscientiously

your Pianos m such high estimation (aida my carlin

brethren. The enclosed certificate will prove how
unanimous they have been on the subject. I beg to

the Masara. (Hunkering may well be proud of ' hering
turned ont from their manufactory an instrument
which, for touch, quality, power and workmanship, lt
would be very difficult to surpass in any part of tba

Haring played upon a Piano-forte made by Mesera.
Chickering A Sons, of Boston and Mew York, I have
much pleasure in testifying to its general excellence.
For sweetness and brilliancy of tone, delicacy of
touch and magnificent power for concert purposes, I
consider it a really GRAND PIANO-roBTE, ANS DECIDED

Among the chief pointa of excellence of the Chlckar
lng Planos, of which speak the renowned artists in their
congratulatory testimonials to the Messrs.Ohickering,
are the greatest possible depth, richness and volume of
tobe, combined with a rare brilliancy, clearness and
perfect evenness throughout the entire scale; and.'
above au, a surprising duration of sound, the pure and
sympathetic quality of which never changes under the
moat delicate or powerful touch.
During the past forty-three years this firm has mann
actured
80.000 PIANOS,
In the construction of which they have introduced every
known and valuable improvement. They have invaria?
bly been selected and need by all of the world's ac
knoutledged great artista who have visited this country
professionally, both for private and public use,
THALBERG.
I consider Chickering A Sons' Pianos, beyond com?
parison, the best I have ever seen in America,
GOTTS CHALK.
I consider Ohickering A Sons' Pianos superior to any
in the world.
They are unrivalled for their einging qualities and for
the harmonious roundness of their tone. There la a
perfect homogeneity throughout all the registers. The
upper notes are remarkable for a clearness and parity
which I do not find in any other Instrument, while the
base is distinguished for power without harshness, and
for s magnificent sonority.
WKHM.
Your Pianos are superior to any I have ever seen in
thia cour try or in Europe.
I have never hoard a tone so perfect; lt yield? every
expression that ls needed in music, and ita quality ia
capable 01 change to meet every sentiment. This la a
rare power, and ls derived from tho perfect purity of
lu tone, together with its sympathetic, elastic and well
balanced touch.
POZNAN SKI.
During the past eight years I have constantly played
upon the justly celebrated Erard Plano? ; yours are the
only Instruments that I have found, either hen or in
Europe, to equal them in all their points Of excellence.
It may be satisfactory to our patrons and friends
among the public at large to state that testimonials have
been received from all the leading artiata who have
visited or are now residing in the United States, a few of
whose names, besides those above, we append:
