TESTIMONIAL.
SHEFFIELD SCIENTIFIC SCHOOL, )
EMODIEEBINO DEPARTMENT, S
YALE COLLEGE, November 16, 1806. )
I have always recommended the Faber Polygrade
Lead Pencils aa the only pencils fitted for both ornamen?
tal and mathematical drawing; but, after a thorough
trial of tho American Polygrade Lead Pencils, man?
ufactured by the American Lead Pencil Company, New
York, I find them superior to any pencil in use, even to
tho Faber or the old English Cumberland Lead Pencil,
being a superior pencil for sketching, ornamental and
mechanical drawing, and all the ordinary uses of a lead
pencil.
These pencils are very finely graded and have a vory
smooth lead; even the got test pencils hold the point well;
they axe all that can be desired in a pencil, lt gives mo
great pleasure to be able to assure Americans that they
wUl no longer be compelled to depend upon Germany or
any other loreign mirket for pone'ls.

Among the chief points of excellence of the Chlckar
lng Pianos, of which apeak the renowned artists la their
congratulatory testimon?ala to the Mesara. Ctookerlog,
are the greatest possible depth, richness and volume of
tons, combined with a rare brilliancy, clearness and
perfect evenness throughout the satire scale; and,
above all, s surprising duration of sound, the pore and
sympathetic quality of which never changea under the
most delicate or powerful touch.
During the past forty-three years this firm baa manu.
GO OOO PIANOS,
In the construction of which they have In trod a ced every

professionally, both for private and pabilo use.
THALBERG.
I consider Chick erlng ? Sons' Pianos, beyond coo*
parlson, the best I have ever seen la America.
GO TTS CHALK.
I consider ChLckerlng A Sons' Pianos superior to any
in the world.
They are unrivalled for their singing qualities and for
the harmonious roundness of their tone There is a
perfect homogeneity throughout all the registers. The
upper notes are remarkable for a clearness and parity
which I do not find la any other Instrument while the
bas?is distinguished for power without harshness, and
for a magnificent sonority.
WEHLA.
Four Pianos are superior te any I hare ever seso ta
this country or in Europe.
I have never hierd a tons so perfect; lt yields every
expression that ls needed la m oslo, and Ita quality is
capable of changa to meet every sentiment This ls a
rare power, and la derived from the perfect parity of
Its tone, together with its sympathetic, elastic and well
balanced touch.
POZSANSKM.
During mo past eight years I have constantly played
apou the justly celebrated Er ard Pianot ; yours are the
only instruments that I have found, either here or la
Europe, to equal them la all their points of excellence.
It may be satisfactory to our patrons and friends
among tba pnblloat large to atete that testimonials hsve
