CHAS. HICKEY, and is now on exhibition at his store in the bend of King street. The print? ing is on vellum and boars tho names of the first founders of the Hops Company : SAMUEL D. CAM URON, JOSEPH A. THOURON, WILLIAM L. DUVAL, JNUMA J. BLOME, JOHN J. BOYDEN? PETER C. Mous SEAU, CHRISTOPHER C. TBUMBO, HENRY M. NORRIS, JAMES W. LAMOTTE, DAVID H. DEYEAUX. The figure of Hope leaning on the anchor occupies the centre of the piece, while over it on' either side are th* shields, one bearing the date of th? organization of the company, October 10,1842, and the other its incorporation in December 19, 1813. The motto of the company, "ne cedemalis" and their name complete the picturo; but the attention is soon drawn to the frame where the gilding of a master hand is recognized. Tho top of tho frame has a fine representation of a hand, engine, while the lower parjt bears the/ .hos? : reel, and in the corners are firemen's hats and crossed, axes, the whole being, beautifully gil*. This Parchment is one of the most cherished'archiv?s of tho Hope Company, and they had determined that, in preserv? ing it, they would also mako it ornamental. A glance at Mr. HICKET'S window will at once testi? fy that their attempt has been successful, and lhey are now in the possession of an ornament to their hall that would rejoice any fireman's heart. The Scroll was lately presented to the Hope Com? pany by Mr. JOSEPH A. THOURON, ono of thc found? ers, in whose possession it had been for a number of years and was saved among some old paper?. ST. Mr. SEABBOOK as their Rector. There is also a select 6chool counected with tho parish. Punda being wanted for church and school, not an unusual contingency now a days in this part of the world, the Sewing Circle, composed of mem nors of the congregation, struck upon the happy idea of instituting a Pair. They worked industri? ously for many weeks, and procured Horton's "building in Meeting street, east sidf, between pinckney and Hasel street, for the purpose, and opened their Baz*uu: on Monday evening. We .visited the" scene that night, but owing to a press of matter our notice could not bo printed in yes- j terday's NEWS.
