This state of affairs has rendered it dlftlcult for buyers to operan?, and tho business of tho week has boen much lessened in consequence. .Tho receipts of the week show a slight increase, being C179 bales, against 4697 the week before. The character of the week's business will bc seen by th? following report: On Friday the market opened quiet and easier, pri?es, in most cases, being about a half cent down, with sales of 300 bales. Low Middling being quoted at 31>i@32, Middling 32>??33. and Strict Middling 33Kc. On Saturday there was but a limited demand, the transactions amounting to 200 balos, at tho rates of tho day before. On Monday there was a fair demand, buyers toking about 400 balos, prices remaining unchanged. Cu Tuesday sellers were offering bttt very limited sticks, and although there was a disposition to easier I rates, buyers were generally compelled to pay about previous quotations ; soles about 200 bales. On Wednesday, duriug the first part of the day, the market was flat and inactive, but later s good demand j prevailed ; salas about 410 bales, quotations continuing as before. Yesterday the market was stiff, and advanced a half cent fi lb.; unies about 250 balos, viz.: 1 at 20 ; 4 at 25 ; 3 at 28; lat 29 ; 27 at 30 ; 16 at 30 ; 6 at SI ; 18 nt 31",- ; 87 at 32 ; 16 at 32>? ; 27 at 82}. ; 71 st 38 ; 2 at 33X. and 15 at 33X- We quote : Low Middling.82 Middling.S3 Strict Middling._.,.....33,. ibu IsjLjuiD COTTON.-Our market, for Sea Islands still continues active. and within the last few days a bet? ter feeling existed, and prices on select brands have shown an Improvement at 3 to 4 cents. There is no Eastern on the market CORN.-Tho arrival? of the week have been large, say about50,000 bushels. We learn of sales of 1500 bushels in bulk, weight, at tl 26 per bushel, and 1000 bushels do. do. at SI 25 per bushel-holders generally dispos? g of meir stock m limitad lots. We quote for Maryland White SI 24 to 1 26 per bushel, bulk, weight, and SI 33 to 135 in I bass. OATS.-The receipts bave boen about 4000 bushels. BACON.-The stock of Sides is light, and there has been a good demand for this description of meat, and wo nota the market firm at about previous rates, say-for prime Ribbed Sides 33@13>J cents 9 th.; clear Ribbed Sides 14 cents 9 lb., and clear Sides 15 cents ?S lb. Shoulders are less active, and wo quote 12>??12X cents ^ lb. for prime. SUGAR AND MOLASSES.-A cargo of Louisiana Sugar and Molasses has been received by Masar*. TurpEB A SONS and MORDECAI A Co., from Kow Orleans, being the first since the war. Apart of tho Sugar has been sold at 11X?. for brown, 12%c for yellow, and 18J?C 9 lb. for white.
