TUESDAY HOSKING, JANUARY 15, 1867. THE FOLLOWISO poem, by W. L. SHOOMAKEB. Utely published in tho Round Tabb, possesses very great merit: TO AUTUMN WINDS. 0, melancholy prospects of decay And beauty's fall, Bleak Autumn winds, once more ye rise and play Your gutty trumps aloug the forest-way, Which dead leaves pall. Lol when ye come the skies are robed in gray And gloomy clouds; Vapors enwrap the white brow of the day. And lair flowers glide, as, 'mid their haunts, ye stray Into then* shrouds. All nature shudders when your tones ar > heard, And when ye near The chilly streams, their waveB aro wildly stirred, Dreaming ot icy chains, and scarce a bird W?l sing for fear. Ye aro stern heralds, and ye loudly tell ? f Winter's drear And Summer's death, of which yo are the knell, . Reminding us that we soon fade as weU And disappear. COMMERCIAL. The Charleston Cotton Market. OFFICE OF THE DAILY NEWS, ? CHABLESTON. Monday Evening, January 14.
