NEW TORE, January 6.-FLOUB, &c-The market for western and state flour is again more active, and tho low grades are 10al5 cents per bbl bettor. Other brands are finn. The sales are 28,200 bbls at SlOall for superfine state; $llal3 65 for extra state ; S10 30al2 25 for the low grades of spring wheat western extra; ?ll 85a 12 50 for shipping Ohio; $13al4 40 for trade brands, and $14 25al7for St Louis extras. Buckwheat flour is dull at $3 25aS 75 per 100 ibo. Canadian flour ls better and fairly active. Sales of 500 bUs at $13 90al5 50 for trade and family brands. Southern flour is again better and in fair demand. Sales of 400 bbls at S12 10a li 40 for common to lair Bal? timore and country extras, and S14 60al7 for trade and funny brands. Corn meal is active, Sales 860 bbl-: at $5 40 for Marsh's caloric, and SS 35a5 50 for Brandywine. GRAIN-Tho wheat market is decidedly firmer, but the extreme prices insisted upon ohecks business. Tho sales ors 39.600 bush at $3 for rejected spring; S2 20a3 30 for No 3 Chicago spring; $2 25 for amber state; $2 90 for mixed Canadian; $315 xor white common Canadian. Corn is decidedly better under the more favorable foreign news, and the dornend has increased for export but is moderate for the local trade. Tho sales are 112,000 bush western mixed at 3118al 20 in store, and closing strong at $1 19 afloat; old and new southern white at $190. A'UOVISIONS.-For old pork tho market is steady, but for new and new Western prices are rather easter. The demand has been fair. For future delivery we hear of 8000 bbls now Western mess,.buyer February, at s.2.1 25, and last evening 300 do do, seller last half of February and first half of March, at $2150. Tho sales, cash and regular, are 4000 bbls at S19 12 V, ff 19 25 for old mess; S20 50 for new do, and $20 75 a 21 for new Western.mesa, with retail sales at higher figures. Beef is rather moro activo, and though prices are not actually higher, thero is more tone noticeable. Sales of 475 bbls at $9 a 12 for old plain mess; $11 a 18 for new do; $12 a 15 for Old extra do, and S17 a 21 60 for new do. Tierce beef is more active. Sales of 400 tierces at $82 a 36 for India mess. Beef nama oro dull and somewhat nominal. Cut meats and bacon are neglected. . Dressed hogs are heavy. We quote at 7?a8?c for Western, z%c for to arrive, and 8?c for city. Lard is moderately active - at inejular prices, dosing tame. Sales of 500 bbls and tes at 12>?a*2>?c for fair to prime dry and old Western.. New Western-is held at about 13?al3c, but we hear of no sales. ASHES-The market is firm for pots, at $8 25a8 50 for old and now lnspectim. Pearls are unsettled at 10 ala. COSTEE-Ric has been more active, bu t prices are with ont change. COTTON-The market to-day is quiet, and prices aro easier. We quote middling uplands at 35s33,S'c, and New Orleans and loxa? at 3Ga30?o. HEMS-Manilla is dull but-firm aSll?all?c, gold. Other kinds are nominal. HOPS-Are finn and in good demand for home con? sumption. We quote at from 30a40aCOc, as to growth and quality. -. Xxuz-Bockland ls finn, with a fair business at $1 70 for common, and $210 for lump. MOLASSES-Is dull, and pri?es are nominal. BICE.-Carolina is dull, and prices favor the buyer.
