THURSDAY MORNING, JANUARY :l, IStw. COMMERCIAL. Exports. LIVERPOOL-Per ship Mary Ogden-I" bales SI and 2850 bales Upland Cotton. ? ? . Tho Charleston Cot io? Market. OFFICE OF THE DAILY NEW S. I CHARLESTON". New Year's Day, January 1, 1807. J There was but a limited amount of business done, this being Now Year's Day; but a tow purchasers operated to the extern; of HO bales, at previous quotations, viz: 19 at 32; 48 at 33; 36 at 34 : 30 at 312,'. CHARLESTON, Wednesday Evening. 1 January -, 1807. J Thero was but little disposition displayed by buyers to purchase early in tho day; but later, thc market became activo, and transactions to tito extent ol' &"<"? bales took place, tho market showing no important change. Thc sales were 21 at 31?; 119 at 32; 7 atS2? ; 57 at 33; LiG at 33?; 33 at 33?; 12 at 33?; 112 at 34; HW at 35. V.'c quote: Ordinary.31 Low Middling.:?2 f?? Mid(Ulng.33 KU Strict Middling.35 fee Selina Market. SELMA. ALA., December 16.-The receipts al this point foot up 19,998, and tho ?tock on hand is 8169. There is grobably Very little cotton left iu thc country to bo rought to market. Thc crop was short and the tall ex? ceedingly favorable for gathering, and wo eau safely con? clude that the amount shipped from Selma this season W?1 not exceed 22,500 or 23,000 bales. This is a lanieaUi ble falling off from thc old antc-bclliun crops, wy?n Selma shaped 80.000 to 100,000 bales. The area of tho region of country shipping lrom Selma has arther in? creased than diminished in the last six yars. So wo can safely assert that this section of thu ^ottou-growiug region produced less than one-fourth of au average crop before the war. Mobile Market. MOBILE.
