side speculators who acted according to the cautions wo

congratulate themselves on being wise in time, and<

Brown shirtings uud shootings aro dull and heavy in

of the style in vogue nro rather scarce and very finn.
Rich colore arc tho prevailing taste. Other kinds aro
dull ami heavy. Vine broadcloths are irregular in price
and quotation ; demand email. Fine and desirable styles
fancy cosBimcros aro in good request, but no others.
Quotations aro nominal. Flannels aro in moderate de
mand. Blankota active. Imported fabrics aro dull, ex
cept for choico dress fabrics. Medium and inferior
kinds are ?lull. Delaines, bombazines, merinos, plaids
and fancy dress goods aro in moderato demand. Stuff
good? aro lower. Silks aro oleo less firm, both black ami
colored. Auction eales havo become few, and only de
sirable gooda realize fair prices. Many lines uro passed.
Paris dress goods, such as delaines, merinos, poplins
and fancy Hannels, aro the most attractive, and command

havo brought out a good many orders, und the stock is
being rapidly reduced, and at the close holdors general? v

spot. It is hold at $24 to bo made next week, and $23
for all December. Old Mess is still selling to
a limited oxteut for Southern shipment, at Ulla,

Hams are held moro firmly at 22..a23o for sugar cured,
and 20c for plain, canvuscd and pucked. Bulk meats
aro Inactive. Shoulders, sides and clear sides would not
bring over 13c, Mc and 14,ijc, packed, but are not freely
ofl'crcd at these pr.ccs. Oreen meats were hold moro
firmly at 7c, 10c and Vi)jr. for shoulders, sides and
hame, with buyers at J le _. lb lca9. Lard wns held al
