AUGUSTA, November ft-COTTON.-The market was
very dull to-day, there being a stand-off between buyers
and sellers. Prices ranged from 35a36 cents.
Saleo to-day 210 balee, as follows:-ll at 34; 6 ai 34%;
86at 85; 13 at 35#; 140 at 36; 10 at S6&; 18 at 36K. 8
boles at 37 cents. Receipts, 449 bales.
The sales on Monday, whioh were omitted in our last,
were 335 bales, as follows:-47 at 34; 75 at 35; 162 at 36;
S4 at 38X ; 37 at 38J?, and 16 bales of choice cotton at 38
cents. Receipts on Monday 210 bales.
GOL?.-Brokers are buying at 149 and selling at 150.
Demand good.
. SmvKB.-Brokera are buying at 140 and selling at
142*145.
FINANCIAL.-We fear that our supply of currency will
be short thia week as the sales of Cotton have been
heavy for tho past three-days. Oar want of banking
capital throughout the whole South checks very much
ur very heavy operations. .
In stocks and Bonds there continues to be a moderate
business; 500. shares* of Central Railroad sold at 97.50,
?hares of Georgia Railroad at 75, State Seven per cent
Bonds at 92X, State Sixes at 80 cents.
Little or no demand for Ronda and Stocks.
EXCHANGE.-The banks chook at par. Out door rates
?a? discount, SO Day Bills, l%a2 discount. 80 Day

COMMERCIAL-Business generally is good when we
take into consideration the scarcity of money. Our
planters are,compelled to be economical, and therefore

MOBILE, November 2-COTTON.-The market opened

quotations, but buyers refusing to meet these views,

yesterday's figures. On receipt of unfavorable Liverpool

siness, but the demaud was checked at an early hour by

were indisposed to sell at tho ruling rates. After tho re?
ceipts of tho noon telegrams, however, announcing in
arsasod weakness at Liverpool, they relaxed their chums
and evidenced a willingness to accept tho offers previous- ;
ly rejected, but most buyers, in view of tho unfavorable |

SUGAR AND MOLASSES.-The roceipts since yesterday
oompriso 7 hhds now crop Sugar, 3 hhds of which classed
fair, and 4 fully fair, which were sold to a dealer on pri?
vate terms; and 30 bbls and 30 bbls new Molasses. Tho
former sold at SI and tho latter at 85c $ gallon. Tho
market is entirely bare ol' Louisiana Sugar and Molasses,
Whioh are both in good requost and would sell readily on
arrival at good prices. Cuba Molasses is in fair demand
for the city trado, with a stock on hand of 200,000 gul
Ions. A cargo of about 40,000 gallons pit ic sold to

Memphis Market.
MEMPHIS, November 3.-Business was vory fair to-1
day, and goods were shipped in largo quantities. Cot?
ton ivas being sent to the east by river and roil, and our
city was as busy, if not moro BO, than any day during tho
season.
COTTON-The cotton market was much more active
than during Friday, and salos wore effooted to a largo
amount. Wo heard of 130 bales middling selling for
34%o, but that was above the market price. Our figures j
of yesterday represent the ruling rates during the day, ,
so we make no change. Receipts for the day, by river j
and rail, 907 bales.
