CAROLINA LIME to Northum Lime. I wasnntawari
that it could bo obtuinod, or 1 should have orderod it ii
preference to any oth?r. Wu commenced using it a
Granitovillo in 18'9, sud havo used ovor a thousaui
barrels, We have had freinent occasions to take do wi
and alter work a fov mon lbs old, and found the Lime
perfectly hard and solid. Wo aro now pulling down s
wall erected during the war, un J Hud it extremely dim
cult to clear tp.o brick?. Indeed, I have never seor
stronger walls of thirty years' standing. Mason's ofter
condemn the Limo from ignorauce of i s qualifioH, as
not being as strong as Itao?uaston, thinking it requirei
moie to make the same quantity of mortar. I am sat
isfied, from my own experience, thit it is a mistake. Il
will go quite as far, and when used in tho state thal
masons term "weak mortar," it will, in a fow days, sel
so strongly as to make a bond superior to anything ex
