COTTON.-Tho transactions in tho ?tapio slnco our
last weekly report have been oztremoly limited, holders
of stocks only selling when buyers exhibited a willing

particularly In the class of cottons above Low Mid
dling, which aro hold with much firmness, and which
bad an upward tendency during most of tho
week, until tho decllue, per Scotia, was publish

the lower qualities On Friday, the 20th inat., there
being but little good cotton on tho market and the In

bales of Middling sold at 33c per lb. On Saturday 100
bales changed bauds at full prices for tho better gradea,
say 33c for Middling and 35o for Btrlct Middling Cot
ton, but tbo transactions in tho common qualities ex
hibited vory Irregular rates. On Monday the market
for good Cotton had on.upward tendency, and bolders
In somo casos made eales at 33o per lb. for Low Mid
dling, 34c to 35c per lb. for Middling, and 30o per lb. for
Strict Middling Cotton, about 00 bales being sold dur
ing the day. On Tuesday the European news was ex
pected, and there was no eales. On Wednesday the de
clino In tau Liverpool market, per Scotia, was publish
ed, but owing to the light stock and tbe flrmnoss of
holders, it? only apparent effect waa to cause an almost
entire anapenslon of bualnesa during the day, the sales
being confined to soma eight baies at unchanged
prices. Yesterday thero waa a good Inquiry, with sales
of 100 bales at easier pri?es, and In somo lntances about
one cent d?clina, but generally the transactions were
.on a basis of 91 to 92o. j er lb. for Low Middling, and 35c.
per lb. for Strict Middling Cotton. The market belog
somewhat irregular, we omit quotations.

NAVAL STORES.-The receipts during the week bave
? amounted to about 800 bbls. Rosin and 168 bbls. Spirits
'Turpentine. There was a sala of oxtra White Ho Bin at
$6.60 per bbl., but the general quotations are aa follows :
.Pale, $5 to $6.60; No. 1. $4 to $6; No. 9, $2 to $2.60;
No. 8, $2; Common Black, $1.60 to $1.65. Stock of
Rosin light. Thora has been 200 bbls. Spirits Turp?n?
tine disposed of, part of which sold at 60o. per gallon.
.Crude is selling at $3 to $4, the latter price for Virgin.

HAY.-The receipts of tbe week have been light, say
? 270 ba es of North River, from New York, per steamer.
We are informed of transactions In this grado of Hay at I
- $1.16 per hundred, which is a Blight improvement on
previous buIm. There is, however, an ample stock on
'hand.
Thero has been no arrivals of Eastern, and the sales
have been only In a retail way.
CORN.-There has been but 7000bushels received
. since our last report. Early in the week the depression
?in tbe Baltimore market caused a dull fooling here, but
for several days thero has been a goo* demand with an
Improved feeling in the market. We learn of sales of
.'White Maryland Corn at $1.45 for Common to $1.60 for
? Good, por bushel weight, bags Included. A very prime
. article would probably bring a higher price. Yellow
Maryland has been sold at $1.30 per bnsbel weight,
bags included. There has been no arrivals of Mixed
. Oom during the week.
OATS.-Thero has been no receipts or wholesalo
transactions in this grain during the week. The mar
ket continues heavy and overstocked, with only a small
. demand.
FLOUR.-The reoeipts of Northern and Western
brands from Now York, by steamer, continuo fair,
while they are quite light from Baltimore Thero is a
steady demand for tho better qualities, at about pre
vious prices-say $9.60 to $10 per bbl. for Super, and
$11 to $12 per bbl. for Extra Flour. Baltimore Flour
eells at higher rates.
BACON.-Tho receipts and stock of Sides and
; Shoulders continue light, and holders are firm at 17 >,'c.
for common to 10c. por pound lor prime Shoulders;
. Olear Ribbed Bides 22o. to2a>?o. per pound; Horns
. Q4c. to 28o per pound, as in quality.
SALT.-Thero continues a good demand for this arti

to-day. Brokers buying at 148 and selling at 160. Silver
buying at 140, and selling at 1 8.
Mobile Market.
MOBILE, July 21_Corrow-The markot opened to
day at yeatordaj'a quotations, and up.to lato lu tho fore
noon 200 bales changed hands at those figures. The
steamer's nows, with advice? of the lOtb, with more fa
vorable reports, had the effect ot stiffening prices, and
salos were made at least lo advance in prices, particu
larly on grado? from Low Middling up.. The former

tho war, and as the supply from tho growing crop cau
not possibly be gotten to that market beiore late lu tho
year, the stock will havo boen reduced so much m to
warrant tho conviction expressed in this circular, that
prices mtiBt advanco with tho demand for tho Ameri
can ?tapio. Tho sales of the day foot up 650 balos, 200
of which wore made on a basis of yesterday's quota
tions, and 100 on an advanco basts of 3i to 330 for Mid
dling.
Monetary and Financial-Wo havo no report from
Gold in Now York to-day, but the condition of the New
Otleans market as reported through private- dispatchos,
and tho favorable advices from Govorumont Securities
in Europoi would Indicate, a fall in the Now York mar
ket. We notice a depression in prices hero with closing
quotations 147,'i to 149. Littlo doing. Consols and
Flve-twontlcs havo advanced on tho other sido, but wo
have no report of the Bank rate aud presume that it re
main? unchanged. In Dornest lo Excbango a modoratu
business Is reported, but no engagements for Cotton
sal? ? to-day. The BankB and Bankers continuo to check

NEW ORLEANS, July 20.-Cotton-Tho movement
was hardly as activo to-day, the demand being checked
by tho limited supply and poor assortment offering, as
well as by tho pretensions of factors, but still tho sales
summed up 1000 bales, eight brokers pirtiolpating in
the business. Wo havo no material change to notice in
prices, but, on tho whole, tho advantage was on the
side of the sellers, particularly with regard to the bet
ter qualli les. ordinary and inferior selling at Irregular
rates disproportionately low compared with tho higher
grades. We now quote low ordinary at 20 to 23c. ordi
nary at 25 to 28o, low middling at 83 to 84c, and mid
dling at 3C to 3Co. Tho sales for tho past three days
amount to 3600 balos, making an aggregate for tho week
ol 0700, agalust 6000 last week.
The stock has also been reduced by fur thor shipments
on planters'account, which of course are not included
in the sales reported. The receipts propor for tho week,
excluding the arrivals from Mobile, Florida, and Texas,
which are Included in their respective statements, com
prise 1886 balos, agoTnst 26<i7 last week, showing a do
oraaao of 1121 balos. The wook's exports embrace 0400
bales. 2395 of which wero to foreign ports, and 7104
coastwise.

celpts since yesterday. Tbe market is bare of the pro
duction of Louisiana, but is well supplied with that of
Cuba. Extreme dullness continues to prevail, however.
There was not a sale worthy ot note to-day, and only a
small retail business was done, at 16 to 16>? and 16>?o
for prune to choice Porto Rico Sugar, l7o for yellow
clarified Cnba, and 17>ic per lb tor white do. Thero is
no demand for round lots of Cuba Molasses. It la re
tailing at 65o per gallon. The principal sales for the
week are confined to 241 bhds Porto Rico In two lota,
on private terms, and 1 hbd Inferior Louisiana, on the
landing, at Be per lb. The principal sales of Molasses
comprise 00 bhds Cuba rebolled at 45c; 100 bhds and
300 bbls Cuba, raw, on private terms, and 27 bbls good
common Toras at 45c per gallon. Week's receipts 68
bhds Sugar and 46 bbls Molasses, Louisiana produc
tion. Cleared, 22 hbds, 134 bbls Sugar, 62 bbls Molasses.
The foreign importa comprise 2220 boxes, 40 hbds

Molasses-There is but little doing. Prices are,
however, about the ??me. We have only to notice eales
of 60 hhds Coba at 52o.
Naval 8TOBXS-Spirits turpentine is quoted very Ir
regular to-day, and we can scarcely give a very accurate
idea of price?; 74c may be given at the gen oral price,
for parcel?, including papors. Rosins have sold leas
freely to-day. Prices are quit? steady; common can be
purchased at $2 76 to 2 87 ??.
Oils.-Linseed Is lu very fair reqnost from the trade
at $t 80 to $1 81, Fish Oils have met with less demand
for a day or so past. Previous prices are maintained,
but we bave no sales of moment to report.
Petroleum.-There was a very fair business notod
to-day, though the market can hardly bo called active.
Sales 1000 bbla crudo at 23 to 240, and 2000 bbls bonded
at 37 y. to 39X0.
PnovisiONB -Pork. -The market is heavy and lower,
closing w< skly. The sales are 6860 bbls at $31 43 to
$31 62 for mess, oaab and regular way, closing at $31 60,
regular, $20 76 to $30 for *64-'65 mea?, and (27 to $27 60
for prime. Also, 2500 t bis mess for August and Sep
tember delivery, s.o. and b.o. at $3150 to $32.
Beef-I? unchanged. We notice sal? s of 460 bbls at
$10 to $21 for plain Western mesa, and $21 60 to $24 60
for extra do.
Beef Hams-Are nominal at $46 for Wostern.
Bacon binga.-The market is unchanged. The sales
