character of the foreign news has completely unsettled
the Cotton Market, and the Btaplo WBB quite dopresscd.
Tho falca were confined to about 100 bales, mostly by

por lb, the grades bolng irregular.

New Orleans Market?
NtfW ORLEANS, Juno 28.-COTTON-The unfavorable
tenor of the foreign no we appears to heve ciscooraged
factor'?, and thoro has boen no doblro apparent to realizo
to-day even at lower prices. The do maud, howovcr,
was limited, and the sales were confined to 600 bales,
taken by lour brokers, at figures showiDg an average re
duction ef 3 cents from Tuesday's currenoy on all de
scription* bolow middling. Wo now quote ordinary at
a6 to 27 cents, good ordinary at 21) to 81 cents, low mid
dling at 33 to 34 cents, and middling at 37 to 38 cents.
Au offer of 33 cents was refused for a desirable list of
low middling, but on the other hand we hear of pur
chases at 29 conts for strict good ordinary, and 31 cents
Xor low mi idling. The latter, however, are understood
to bo nniior the classification which prevailed before the
war, according with or assimilating to tho Liverpool
classification. Our quotations are predicated on tbo
New Orleans classification, which has prevailed here
since the commencement or souiotlme daring tho war.
Tho New York telegrams state that "tho Dry Goods
Exchange havo concludod an ostlmate of tho growing
. orop based upon the reports of sheriffs and prominent
persons In every county of the cotton States." If they
have received such reports from "every county," their
returns must have been quite voluminous. Their esti
mate is stated to bo "botwoon four-eighths and flvo
eb?hths of tho crop of 1860." The orop of 1850-60 was
4.675.7T0 bacs (not 5,000,000, as looaoly and incorrectly
reported). That of 1860-61 was put down at 3,609.926.
Tf tbo former be intendod, tho f?garos would bo 2,337,
886 to 2,922,356 bales; if the latter, tboy would bo 1,849.
?03 to 2,313,464. Tho lowest of these estimates much
abovo the average of those mado by oar factors and
-others.

SUGAR AND MOLASSES-There have not been any re.
colpta from the Coast siuce yestorday. The supplies of
the production of Louisiana aro small, but those of Cu
ba aro liberal.
Thero le scarcely any demand, however, and the only
important sales was a lot of 163 hhds Cuba Sogar, a
mixed lot, consisting mostly of common, on private
terms.
Fully fair to prime Cuba Sugar is quoted from first
hands at 14>?o per lb. A small retail business is doing
In Louisiana Sugar at 14c per lb for fair, 14>io for fully
fair, 16c for prime, 15,'ic for yellow clarified, and I0>;o
tor white.
Cuba Sugar is retailing at 13 to 13|^c per lb for No 13,
14c for No 14, and H.5i to 15c for No 16. Coba Molassos
Is retailing at 65o per gallon.
FiiEiouis.- The Freight market continuos vory dull,
both foreign and coastwise, There is a little going for
ward at Ko "& lb for Cotton, and 60o V bbl for Flour by
sall for New York and Boston, lo ? lb for Cotton and
80c ft bbl for Flour by steam. Tho rates by sailing ves
sels for Liverpool are 'id y\ lb for Cotton and 36s for
Tobacco. For Havre le ft ft for Cotton.
Memphis Market.
MEMPBIS, Jane 30.-COTTON-The markot yester
day was extremely dull throughout tho day,with very fow
transactions. Holders were offering nothing but small
outside lots, whllo buyers mode no Inquiries. The dull
ness and depression of the New York Markot has had a
tendency to depress the market here. Holders havo
lost confidenoo in the New York Market, and prices ara
not as firm aa they wero at tho opening of the week. We
loam of unVR or l8 bales Middling at 32c; 11 at 32>i ; 31
Good Ordinary at 38)?. and 16 bales Repacked at 33o.
The market closed dull and heavy, with prices droop
ing. Tbo New York 10:30 dispatch reported tho mar
, ket dall and nominal; at 13:30 Cotton weak; morning
' sales 1000 bala? at 37 to 3lo; at 1 P.M., the market was
unchanged. We give the following quotations :
