NEW OBLEANS, June 26.-COTTON.-We have again I
to notice a very quiet market. The favorable accounts j
/from Liverpool, and the buoyancy they Imparted to the [
New York market, failed to stimulate the demand, al
-, though there was rather more inquiry than yesterday. -
' Prices, however, showed ho improvement, and (the

irom the coast since yesterday of 84 hhds sugar and 10
bbls molasses. There is very' little Louisiana sugar or
molasses on hand, but the market it weil supplied with
the production of Cuba. The demand ls very limited.
? however, and the sales to-day were confined to 15 botes '
. -white Cuba sugar, No 20, at 17J?o, and 62 hhds prime
Cuba at 18)?o par lb. There were no saleB of molasses.
The last-were at 650 per gallon for amatllots of Cuba.

MEMPHIS, June 28,-COTTON.-The dullness noticed
In the market since Monday was still more marked yes

stances, quotations must be regarded os nominal.
Holdere are arto, and nabiag from one to two cents
above the market price, while buyers are reluctant to
make concessions. The Moravian's news baa had no

The New York World, ot Friday, June 29, says:
The money market is dull, and lenders find extrei
difficulty in employing their surplus funds even at fo
per cent, on call. The range of the market for call loa
is four to five per cent.
Government bonds are stronger, owing to the atea
demand for Investment, and from banka and mon
lenders to employ their surplus funds. The five twe
ties of 1862, coupon, are quoted 104? to 104?; do, 18(
103? to 103?; and seven-thirties, 103? to 103%.
The gold market is dull; loans of gold were made
ono-cixteonth to flat at the close. The opening price w
164, whioh was also the highest; the lowest was 151 >

The foreign exchange market was firmer in the aft

GBAIN-Wheat has been in limited supply and demani
at irregular prices. Sales were made of 11,600 bu hela

and heavy, and dosed decidedly lower, nuder mon
liberal arrivals, part of which only entered into the ro
port of receipts, as posted on the bulletin of the Pro
duce Exchange. Only seven or eight boats had reached
the oity in seaton to be inoluded in the regular state
ment of the receipts. Quite a large number got to th?
rendezvous on the East River immediately before oi
after the close of regular 'Change hours. These are thc

LONDON MONEY MABKET.
The weekly returns of the Bank of England show a
gain in bullion of ?1,202,934 and in the reserve of notes
of ?561,915 sterling. Notwithstanding this improve?
ment, tbe Bank rate of discount remains at 10 per cent.
Au early reducion was strongly urgod as one of the
means for restoring confidence, and the returns were
looked upon ai warranting such a step.
Consols on the 15th weie steady, closing at 86? to ?.
The reopening ot the Consolidated Bank was expected
in a few days.
