WRIT OF HABBIS CoRros.-A writ of habeas corpus wss Buod out in this city yesterday, under the following clroumstances: On complaint of Lieut. KYLE, of an Ohio regiment, and by order from tho military, a vory respectable citizen waa arrested by our city police. Yes terday morning, Lieut CAMPBELL, being police officer of the day, was served with notico of a writ or habeas corpus. He sent notice to Provost Marshal, and was sorvod with an ordtir from .him to send prisoner under guard immediately to him, and in afow minutes after wilh the writ of habeas corpus. Alter consulting tho Mayor and City Attorney, ho oboyod the .writ. The Judgo before whom prisoner was carried released bim. With tho order of rolcaso in his pocket, In accordance with a promlBO to Lieut. CAMPBELL, ho reported to Pro vost Marshal. He was kopt under arrest by Provost, and there tho matter stands. LADIES' MEMORIAL ASSOCIATION.-A meeting of con ference of the Ladies and Gentlemen Committees met yesterday afternoon at Maaonio Hall, to mako final ar rangements for the ceremony of Saturday next, June 16. Reports from sub-committees were received. The Committee on Transportation reported that the Presidents of South Carolina and Northeastern Rail road Companies had placed trains at their dispos al for oon voy anco of visitors, and that the fare (twenty-five cents round trip) would be collected and turned over to the Association. Arrangements were also mad e with omnibus lines. The Committee on Wagons reported that the ?Southern and National Express, OERAOBTY'S City Express, and Ullis House Stables, had given each a wagon to run through principal stroets on Saturday, to collect the garlands and carry thom to Maguo!ia Cemetery. The committee to obtain the names of the Confederate dead buried outside of Confederate burying grounds, reported a Hat of about ono hundred. Any Information that can be given to aid this committee In their work will be gladly received by Colonels LORD and MCCRADY. An election was then held for another orator, Mr. MEYNABDIE not being able to be prosont, and resulted In the choloe of Rev. Mr. BOWMAN. Bev. Mr. GIRAR DEAU had already been elected. The other arrange ments will bo published to-morrow morning. The ladles wish it to be distinctly understood that their ultimate object is the care of the families of de ceased soldiers; but the condition of the gravos requires Immediate attention, and as this can be done without any expense, they feel confident that tho community will appreciate their efforts, and give them their coun tenance and hearty support.
