CONFEDERATE MEDICAL STATISTICS.-We are glad to
learn from a paragraph, which will be seen in our NEWE
8 UM M A HY to-day, that tho Statistics and Reports, com?
piled in the Surgeon-General's office at Richmond, have
not been lost, as we had supposed. Tho Medical Bureau
of Statistics was in obarge of Drs. F. SORREL, ol' Savan?
nah, and H. BAER, of Charleston.
THE FIRE IN KING-STREET.-In our retort of the fire
in yes ter .lay's paper, it appears we made a mietako ba
regard to the Kerosene oil said to have been Ju Mr.
Trim's store. Two young gentlemen, who are bis clerks,
called on us last night and requested us to state that
there wss no Kercseno oil in the store proper; that this
article bad always been kept in an outbuilding back of
the store. The Kerosene oil on hand was not consumed
by tbe tire, but is now at the Main Guard House.
THE PRIZE FIOBT.-Onr Informant in relation to (his
matter ?ired ia saying that the cumba! took place at the
"Three Milo House," which is an establishment kept by
llt*m. Kerrigan A Lobaiger in the best style, and ls
remarkable for the order and quiet that ia always found
there. The fight "can? off" in the woods, some dis tance
from the house lept by the?e gentlemen, without their
knowledge; and we are sorry that the spot was not more
-particularly stated to us, so that Messrs. Kerrigan A
Lobfiger might have been saved the pain of seeing their
cosy inn turned into a fighting ring.
F NEW ROSIN.-The Northers tern Railroad brought to
thia city on Thursday last forty-five barrels of the new
crop of rosin-a very beautiful lot, olasslng as No. 1. It
la the first receipt ot the present yield, and was con?
signed to Adams, Frost k Co.. and Screven k Nesbit
One of our brokers disposed of lt to Mr. R. T.
Walker. He wi'l send it abroad. The parcel was put
up near 8c de ty Hill, from which place it was shipped
here. The specimen shown us was very clear and ele?

A NICE PRESENT.-Sorao young ladies of thl6 city, a
few weeks ago, desiring to have a memento from the
great chieftain of the Confederacy, which he had worn
during the late struggle, wrote a letter to General LEE
requesting that, if not too much trouble, he would send
them something, no matter how trivial Ol its kind. To
this request the brave and gallant General answered, en?
closing some buttons from off his uniform. We have
been kindly furnished willi the letter, of which the fol?

PROVOST Coon - W. H. Knight, soldier.-Drunken?
ness and assault-Mrs. Elizabeth Saunders testified that
defendant was drunk on Thursday afternoon In St. Mi?
chael's a Tey, and that be came up to where her husband
was sitting at the door and knoc&ed him down, so ss to
stun him. Nat Fuller, colored, testified that defendant
went into St Michaal's-all^y very drunk and noisy, and
that be walked op to Mr. Saunders, who was sitting at

For the defence, William Hoard, colored, testified tbat
tho defendant ? diuok but not noisy, and that he
crossed from El... tt-street to the alley, and that he
walked up to a man and talked for a minute, and then
witness saw defendant t ive the man a slap with tho back
of his hand; tho man was sit? in M down; a woman then
carno out of the house with r. - tick of lightwood in ber
hand and struck tie d?tendant a severe blow across the
face and picked up a brick and hit him heavily on tho
head. Sentence deferred.
James Henry, colored.-Attempt to steal.-Julius
Wagener tel ified that ho keeps a store at the corner of
Qneon street and t ant Hay, and that he happen'd to go
into hib samplo room ou Thursday last, at about 1
o'clock, when bc discovered tho defendant leaning over
the counter Irving to get into the money drawer on the
other Bide. Witness said that defendant evidently
had sneaked in, and when asked what he wanted there,
said he wanted to buy tobacco, while, as witness saw,
hie pockets were foll of tobacco. Witness stated that
he had often missed money from that drawer; had
never seen defendant before. Being an Old offeuder,
the defendant was sentenced to 30 days' Imprisonment.
William Board, colored.-Carrying concealed weapons.
Policeman Behrens testified tbat on I hursday night he
was on duty in Elliott-street, and that there was a color?
ed ball in said street; that several colored soldiers came
to witness and told him to arrest and take out a man
from the ball room who bad drawn a revolver. Witness
told them tbat he could not go In to arrest him, but if
they would bring him out, and they, the soldiers, go
with witness to the Guard Boase, and state their caso,
he would ari est him. They then brought out d?fendant
and he arrested him. Witness said tLotbesaw no re?
volver on the defendant, aod that he went quietly to the
Guard House. Defendant made a statement, upon which
the Court ion td him not guilty.
Francis Anthony and Samuel Huggins, colored boys,
arrested for throwing rocks and bricks on the Citadel
Green, to thc danger of the - head-? of the people," were
remanded until to-day.
MAJOR'S COOBT.- An individnal canght peddling
writing paper and other heavy articles, was informed by
bis Honor that ho would be fined $5, unless he took out
a licuuso whicl co:-ts SOO. He retired evidently doing a
sum in his head so as to ree which was the cheapest.
A man who ?old whiskey without a license was fined
by the Mayor, and having been fined before for selling
the same, he can now dispose of tho liquor as re-fined
whiskey.
Another man who was p< ddling chesp physic, was put
ba the same category with the firs', peddler, so far au the
fifty dollars were concerned, but we think ho is going
to give up the profession, for ss soon as tho Mayor had
mentioned the penalty, be privately asked cte of the
watchmen to show him the way to a sausage factory,
which gives us a strong impression that he is "going to
throw physic to the dogs "

that he couldn't take care of himself, snd the other in-t
