The demand tor Stato and Western Hour was very mode?
rate, and prices for all qualifie* were.drooping; but no
grados wero quotably lower except common, which de

our subjoined quotations revised. Southern Hour
waa inactive and drooping. The sales were about
450 barrels. Canada flour was quiet, und holders were
offering the low grades freely at a decline of 10 cents
per barrel. T.he sales were about 350 barrels. Rye
flour was neglected, and priers ruled nominal. Corn

to 66c. Rye was moderately active and steady, with

Barley was inactive and nominal. Malt was neglected,
and prices ruled heavy.
COTTOK.-Tue demand was chiefly from shippers and
spinners. Prises ruled nominal and a shade in buyer's
favor. The sales were about 25o0 bales. We quote :

strong advancing tendenoy. Mew sheathing and yollow

CANDLE?. - Tun market continued moderately active
in a jobbin . way fur ah sorts, but no dunand prevailed
for large k .8. City and Western adamantine, in lota,
sold to a fair extent at 24 g)25 cents-sometimes20 cents;
patent, 50(352 rents, aud sperm, 40i?>42 cents.
FREIGUTS.-The market was firmer, owing to a
scarcity of room. The steamers were all supplied with
grain, slowly filling with cotton at .Sid. Tho engage?
ments were: To Liverpool 600 boxes bacon at 2ua.; per
steamer luO baga seed at 80s. ; 200 bales cotton at .Si d.
To London, 300 bbls. roi-in at 2s. BJ. To Glasgow, per
steamer, 600 bbls rosin at 3s. To Bristol, 350 tons oil
coke on private Urms. The charters are : A brig to
Cork, for orders, corn, at 6a 6d., exclusively for west
ooast of ireland; one ship to Belfast, corn, at 6s. 4.Sid. ;
a bark to a port tu the Uuitod Kingdom, petroleum, at
6s. Cd. ; a bark to Buenos Ayres, private ; a schooner to
Savannah and back, private; two schooners from St
Marks to New York, cotton, private; one bark to
Matanzas, private, and a schooner to Wilmington, H.

GUNNY Baas.-The market was quiet, but prices aro
nominally sustained. We noto sal-s of 300 bales in Ros
ton, on private terms. Holders were generally demand?

MOLASSES,-Tho market was steady, with a moderate

Rico at 66e.
NAVAX. 6 TO aaa.-Tho market was inactive, and prices
generally wero drooping. About 700 bois, common
rosina were sold, mainly at $4. We quote strained rosin
a; $4.60 to $5.50, with a few sales. .No. 2 were 1 omlual
at $10 to $ ll. and Urge lotd of prime pale w-.ro offered ut
$13 to $14, while small lots for consumption were sold

closes firmer. Yesterday evening 26 cents was offered
and refused for a lot 60" slabs Straits. We note a SHU
of 400 slabs . traits at 35.1,0. We quote Banca at 2*3*0.,

the close of the market at $11.25, but previously could
be bought at $11.
