enraged citizens in Corner Township in
May. 1808. After the whipping the
negro was lodged in thc County Jail,
where he died a few days later. This

The Ribla Institute met with Shiloh

the wedding bells will ring in our
neighborhood ere long.
Mr. Robert (Hun, of Starr, was in
this community last week.
Alter a heated term, cooler weather
has made iis appearance, much to thc
delight ol'the people, for during the
long, hut summer months the mosqui
toes were so enormously bad that the
people couhrut rest. The mosquitoes
of our burg are of a most energei ic and
enterprising variety. No matter how
securely one tucks the net they lift it
and walk in and least. Nor do they
contine themselves to thu bed room.
The front veranda is their favorite re
sort, and the arms and necks nf the
poor mortals trying to keep cool are
their easy prey. Then, ton. they aient
a religions type. They come loChurch
in swarms nod, loin in lite hymus m a
loud chorus, punctuating thc stanzas
with a period of biting tho wearers of
the muslin waist.
