Pound parties are becoming very

room where, under pendant decorations

.hour euell one was made to feel itt
ihonie. The cuttiug of thc cake was an
enjoyable feature to those who were
privilgcd to anticipate, but before the
oak?- ha?! gone half way around tim
tabb-, the Ihimbl" and ring were both
out out.
After all hiitl i?ucd sumptuously wo
betook ourselves hack t?? the parlor,
when- we passed the time very pleas
antly in games of different kinds until
th?1 clotdi tobi ns that it was time to
part, when we bade eat h other good
night Imping to meet again ?-re long.
Tho saddest feature of the night was
bidding adieu to Miss Anna, who was
enjoying her last party in good ?dd
South Carolina, before taking her
departure for Alabama, where she goes
to spend two or three months willi her
sister. \\ ?. luipi- she will show the
Alabama folks how to have a pound
party anti how t?> enjoy themselves.
Our school at Mountain Springs, near
this place, is in a nourishing condition
