Crops in this section are better than
any we have seen. Upland corn is be
ing laid by by some of our fanners,
while rot ton is heavy loaded with
squares, ami we will h?ve blooms in a
few days. We tell you. Mr. Kditor, as
a whole our fanners cannot be excelled.
They are second to none when it comes
to straight out farming.
It was our happy pleasure on Thurs
day morning, 15th inst., to aboard
Smith's excursion to the city of Atlanta.
We reached the city about. 7 ii. m., and
at once, our eyes saw grand sights. Hut
on the next day (Friday) we took in
tho "Gate City of the South,'' and saw
sights and wonders never to bo forgot
ten. Yes, we certainly ?lid enjoy the
trip, ami hope to live and have the.

Stribling had the misfortune to lose
his barn, fodder and corn by lire, which
occurred in the day time. It is an en

pany for a Train to Charleston, to be
run about the middle of July. As soon
as tho details are completed the exact

went to the Reunion in May will tell
you that the old "City by the Sea" is
more attractive than ever. If you
want to take this delightful trip now is
tho time, and if you will notify me of
your intention to go I will do ntl in my
power to make the Excursion Train
comfortable and pleasant to everybody.
