Mr. T. T. Lucas, recently of tim linn

make that city his home. Mr. Lucas
is a s?m of Dr. Lucas, a prominent phy
sician of Chesterfield. During his
twelve months stay in this city, his
manly bearing, a ll able manners'and
cleverness drew around him many wann
admirers, who deeply regret being
forced to give him up.
A barn of Mr. S. A. Hutchinson, in
Elberton, Ga., was destroyed by lire on
the night of the 20th inst., together
with a line horse, a mule, cow, buggy,
cart, wag ?'? and a lot of grain and
forage, lt ans evidently the work of
?tn incendiary. Not very long sim ?'
Mr. Hutchinson lost his dwelling house
ami contents by tire. Mr. Hutchinson
was formerly ii citizen ?d' Anderson

Mr. R. T. Crawford di?'?l on Thurs
day, November 17th. after a week's
illness with pneumonia. Mr. Craw
ford was a native of Anderson County,
S.C., but had boen a citizen of Hart
well for many years. He Bervod his

laughter to cherish his memory. His
