On Saturday the Convention was favor ed with some explanatory and timely re marks by .Larkin Newton, ,Esq., and Hon. J, Boltou Watson, setting forth some of tho primary intentions and ulti mate onda pf Music, its uses and abuses. On Sunday tho attendance was largo, everybody seemed pleased with the gen eral proceedings of the meeting, and we are persuaded that the cause of Music will bo held in higher esteem and groater efforts put forth to advance that causo by those who wore in attendance. A resolution was offered and a vote of thanks by tho Convention extended to tho morubers at Willis's Chapel and com munity for the very hospitable mannor in which they had entertained the Conven tion. And this resolution was not offer ed through formality, for tiloso only who have visited the Newtons, a McMurtry, a Watkins and other?; in that section know kc\r they ctr. entertain. A resolution was also offered request ing tho Secretary to furnish the Anderson paper? and The Music Teacher with a report of tho Convention. The Convention was then adjourned to hold its annual mooting at Lebanon, bo ginning Friday beforo the first Sunday in September. '885. C. O. Burmiss, Secretary. Delicate Women.
