the dwelling house of Mr. T. J. Leak, on
Main Btreot, caught fire. The alarm was
given, and the Pioneers responded very
promptly, but their services were not
needed, as the flames were extinguished
as soon as discovered. No damage.
The Walhalla Courier of last week says :
"Mr. Berry-Darby, a young man of An
derson County, died at his sister's, Mrs.
James Phinney, in Wost Union, on last
Wednesday afternoon, of pneumonia.
His body was carried to Sandy Springs,
In Anderson County, for interment."
