Whitfield, which occurred at her home in this city last Saturday night nt 10 o'clock, after an illness of moro than six months, from paralysis. Mrs. Whit field waB born and raised in Spartanburg County, but removed to Anderson with her parents in 1S58, and has resided here ever since, being at the time of her death about 47 year? of agc. Sho wah a most excellent lady, kind, generous and eflec t ion ate, making a friend or every one with whom she became acquainted. For more than twenty-one years she was a consistent and active member or the Methodist Church, and during her long illness bore her sufferings with that pa tience and fortitude characteristic or a true Christian. She leaves behind her a bereaved husband and four children, who havo the sympathies of a host of friends and an extensivo acquaintance in their bereavement. After appropriate funeral services, conducted by Revs. J. W. W?ll ing and D. E. Frierson, D. D , in tho pres ence of n very largo congregation, in the Presbyterian Church, last Monday morn ing, her remains were laid to rent In the adjoining cemetery. The Market.
