Anderson County Singing Convention

day and Sunday, October 4th and 6th.
Tho Convention was called to order by
J. W. Kskew, and was led In music
by J. L. Haynle. Recess for one hour.
The Convention re assembled, and the
following officers wore elected to serve
the ensuing year: President, J. W. Ks
kew ; vice-President, J. L. Haynle ; Sec
retary, B. L. Johnson.
Reports from schools and choirs woro
received. It was decided to hold tho
semi-annual meeting with Willis Chapel
on Saturday beforo tho second 8unday in
May, 1885. J. D. King and 8. J. Dalton,
led in music. Lessons tn music were
continued by H. H. Morriu and J. H.
Harbin. After a recosa of ten minutes,
J. L. liny nie and J. O. Douthit, conduc
ted the musical exorcises. Adjourned to
meet Sunday morning at 10 o'clock.
On Sabbath morning Convention met at
the appointed hour. Exercises opened
by sluging-prayer by the President.
Lesson in musio conducted by Messrs.
J. H. Harbin, 8. J. Dalton. J. L. Haynle
and Prof. J. G. Douthit. An essay was
thon read by J. W. Eskew. On motion,

up and prepare himself for the race,
