The first, the crime committed by Lot, in the days of Abraham, after bc bud escaped from Sodom. Secondly, the great public apos tasy of the Jewish nation, who worship ed their idol in tho very presence ol God. The patriarch Lot lived for many years in the city of Sodom. It was tho worst and most infamous city in thc world. ?So Almighty (iud opened thc floodgates, and rained down living lire from Heaven, and destroyed tho whole city and nation. In thc midst ol that city lived Lol. So holy was l.e, mid so pure had bc kept himself, that when the three angels were sent by Almighty God to destroy the city, they came and said to him: "Go (?ut <d this place; take your wife and children and go otu." He arose aud took his wife and two full grown daughters, and (led froui Sodom. The eily waa burned by fire ; the wife was struck dead for ber disobedience ; and there remained to him only fie two women, his own daughters An inn ms thought came into Ibu minds of these two women. Thoy wished lo commit sin with their own father. Il is enough to make a man's blood run cold lo think of it. W hut did they do?
