Capers on the ticket will ho held. This action was for the two fdd purpose of securing as full a meeting of the Com m ?Ileo as possible, and also to give all parts of the Stale an opportunity to express their Kcntiiucuts as to who w mid best fill tho position, which is sec ond in importance only to the Governor >hip itself. Dr. Jones, in addi tion to these qualifications, has the essen lini quality of being an excellent finan cier, which v.il! be- of great value in the management of the lisca I Hairs, of our common schools. He comen ?rom An derson County, hut is so well known over the State as to preclude the necessity or propriety of a sectional endorsement, lie is in no sense a candidato or aspirant for the ollice, having been suggested and urged by friends beforo he had any in timation of the fact that he was thought of in connection with the position. If nominated, however, he will accept, and the party will secure the name of can didate who will enthuse the people, and the State will be blest with the services of a man who will give to our common schools the highest development of which they are susceptible. Cash's sprcch at Rock Hill, in which he spoke of emigration, ought to satisfy every white man in the State. He expressed himself as opposed to an influx of "lager beer drinking Dutchmen and spotted-faced Italians," but is in fa vor of bringing the negroes from Virginia and North Carolina down here and mak ing South Carolina, us ho expressed it, "A Black Now York." His presence excited curiosity, bnt his speech has aroused an intense disgust for the man. The new party want more negroes and fewer white men. In other words they want office, and expect to get it from the negroes. To accomplish this, they havo of late been most assiduous in their at tention to the colored brother. A circular signed by Erasmus Cor noll, president, and Lucy Stono, chair man of the executive committee, states that "tho Woman's Suffrago Constitution al amendment now pondlug in Nebraska makes tho present occasion of special in terest."
