Thc second and last examination of tendi era for tho public schools in this County was held on last Saturday. Eighty-six certifi cates have been granted, sixty-two of which ar? for first grade teachers. There were one hu mired and HI applicants, twenty of whom were rejected. Tho board, consisting of Messrs. R. W. Todd, W. J. Ligon and John ll. Adger, D. D., have been untiring in their efforts to secura competent teachers for thia County. Dr. Adger and Prof. Ligon, who serve upou this board without compensation, richly merit tho commen dation of all our citizens for tho faithful and impartial manner in which they have discharged their duty. Tho educational interest of our County could not be entrus ted to a more efficient board. We hope under thc excellent management of this board that an impulse will be given to our public school system which will redound to thc huting goud of thc rising generation.
