Why ladies wave their, banberehiefs at everything, at anything or nothing when they are on a train or in a steamboat or when they are standing on a high hill, is one of those mysteries no fellow will find osL ?A man who puts himself on the ground of moral principle, if the whole world be against himr is mightier than all. Never be afraid of being in the minority, if the minority is based upon sound principles. ? There is some justice in the world after all. By overwork, bad feeding and worse stabling the glanders are produced in horses, ? and now their wicked and unwise keepers are taking the'contagion and dying of the disease. ? Somebody is responsible for the story that American ladies are becoming more and more in the habit of sleeping in their corsets, for the purpose of keeping their figures good. If this is true, American ladies will not be so numerous a few years hence. ? Cheerfulness has been called the bright weather of the heart It gives harmony to the j soul, and is a perpetual song - without words. It is tantamount to repose. It enables nature to recruit its strength; whereas worry and dis? content debilitate it, involving constant wear and tear. ? Always acknowledge all courtesies in a kindly spirit.
