Tribute of Respect. At a meeting of Mio Mills' Grange, No. 291, bold August 5th, 1874, the following preamble and resolutions were unanimously adopted: Whereas, It has pleased Almighty God, the Great Master of the Universe, in the dispensa? tion of a Avise, yet mysterious Providence, to remove from our midst, and from our associa? tions, by cruel, violent and murderous hands, our worthy and esteemed Sister, Mary C. Tucker, an exemplary member, and an effi? cient officer of our Order; and, whereas, the sudden and untimely death of our Sister should remind us of the frailty and uncertainty of human life, of our hastening to the grave, of our liability every moment of being ush? ered into eternity and the necessity of immedi? ate and constant preparation. Bo~it, therefore. Resolved, That in the death of our beloved Sister, Mary C. Tucker, our order ha? lost a worthy member and an efficient offlcor, and the community a kind, worthy and respected member of society. Resolved, Thai? the parents, the brothers and sisters of the deceased arc entitled to, and wo do hereby extend to them, our heart-felt sym? pathies and our sincere prayers in this sad be? reavement. Resolved, That we dedicate to the memory of our deceased Sister a blank page of the book of record of this Grange, containing her name, age, date and manner of death. Resolved, That our Secretary be instructed to present a copy of these proceedings to the parents of our deceased Sister; also, the editors of the Anderson Intelligencer and Conservator for publication. At aregular meeting of Sandy Springs Grange, No. 242, held on Saturday, August 8, 1874, the following preamble and resolutions were unan? imously adopted: Inasmuch as it has pleased an A11-Wise Prov? idence to remove from our midst our beloved Brother and Worthy Chaplain, Rev. Dr. C. L. Gaillard, we trust to a happier and more ex? alted state of existence; therefore, we deem it a high privilege and a duty to submit the fol? lowing resolutions: Resolved, That we havelwv.ed with profound sorrow of the death of our beloved Chaplain, whose Christian virtues, generous qualities of mind and heart endeared him to us; and while we deplore his demise, we honor and cherish his memory. Resolved, That wo bow in humble submission to the decree of an unerring hand in this dis? pensation of His providence. Resolved, That in his death the Church has lost a wise counsellor and a zealous Christian ; the Patrons of Husbandry, an active and effi? cient member; society, a bright ornament; the bereaved wife, an affectionate husband; his children, a kind and indulgent father. Resolved, That we tender to the sorrowing wife and children our deepest sympathy for their irreparable loss; and humbly trust that God, in His goodness and mercy, may be their j stay and comfort in their great affliction. Resolved, That the members of this Grange wear the usual badge of mourning for thirty days ; and that a blank page in our Secretary's Book be inscribed to his memory. Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be presented to the wife and family of the deceas? ed.
