23AJD BLOOD.
" A corruPt tree," saith the Inspired Vol
J\_ unie, "bringeth forth not good fruit."
nor can corrupt blood impart health, beauty
and good liesh or spirits. "The Blood is the
Life," and health eon only be enjoyed in its
full perfection where tho blood is kept in a pure
and iincorrupted state, hence the necessity of
pure blood, to give health, beauty, buoyant
spirits, long life and happiness.
AX IMPURE CONDITION of the BLOOD,
manifests; itself in different forms of diseases,
such as Tetter, Salt Rheum, Scald-Head, Ring
Worms, Pimples, Blotches, Spots, Eruptions,
Pustules, Roils, Carbuncles, Sore Eves, Rough
Skin, Scurf, Scrofulous Sores and Swellings,
Fever Sores, White Swellings, Tumors, Old
Sores or Swellings, Syphilitic Atrections of the
Skin, Throat and Hones, Ulcers of the Livor,
Stomach, Kidneys, Lungs and Uterns.
In this condition of things something is
needed at once to cleanse the blood, and neutral?
ize the insidious poison that
BURNS LIKE A TERRIBLE FIRE,
As it courses through the veins, sowing seeds
of death with every pulastion.
Dr. Pemborton's" Compound Extract of Stil
lingia, (or Queen's Delight) will positively
effect this desideratum, expelling every trace
of disease from tho blood and system, and
leaving the skin
SOFT, PAIR and BEAUTIFUL.
For all diseases of the BLOOD, LIVER and
KIDNEYS, this Great Vegetable Alterative is
without a rival. It will cure any Chronic or
Long Standing Disease whoso real or direct
cawso is Bad Blood. Rheumatism, Pains in
Limbs or Bones, Constitutions Broken Down
by Mercurial or other poisons, are all cured by
it. For Syphilis, or Syphllictic Taint, there is
nothing equal to it. A trial trill prove it. It
is :i most useful Spring and Fall Purifier of the
Blood. Its safety and innocence have been
lolly tested, so that it may be administered to

SINGER VICTORIOUS!
Sewing Machine Sales, 1S73.
THE table of Sewing Machine sales for 1S73,
show that the sales were as follows:
SINGER, - - - 232,441.
Wheeler ?fc Wilson, ? - 110,190.
Domestic, ... 40,114.
Weed, - - - 21,709.
Wilson, - - - 21,247.
American Button Hole, 14,162.
The table shows that sales of the Singer ex?
ceed those of any other Company, for the pe?
riod named, by the number of 113,20! Machines,
or nearly doublo those of any other Company.
It may be farther stated that the sales of
1S73, as compared with tiiose of 1S72, show a
relatively larger increase, beyond the sales of
other makers, than of any other year. For in?
stance, in 1S72 we sold 45,000 Machines more
than any othor Company, whereas, in 1S73, the
sales we're
113,254 Machines in Excess of our Highest
Competitor.
These figures are all the more remarkable,
for the reason that the sales of the principal
Companies in 1S73 are less than their sales in
1872; whereas, as has been shown, our sales
have largely increased.
The account of sales is from sworn returns
made to the owners of the Sowing Machine
Patents.
It will hardly be denied, that the superiority
of the Singer Machines is fully demonstrated.
At all events that, their popularity in the house?
hold is unquestionable.

UNDERWOOD'S
Cotton Cloper ui Cultivator.
THIS is a North Carolina invention, and
will become to the Cotton Planter what
the McCormick Reaper and Mower is to the
Western farmer. Col. McKay, one of North
Carolina's best men, says: "Its value to a far?
mer can only be appreciated by those who give
it a trial. I made a special examination of its
work, and pronounce it a thorough success. It
bars both sides of the Cotton at the same time,
much better than can be done by the ordinary
plow, and chops out the surplus Cotton, leav?
ing the hills 12 inches apart, and it thoroughly
cleans the Cotton of grass. It was tried on
land abounding with the usual number of
stumps on my tartn near Fayettcville, N. C.
It worked beautifully. There was no clogging
or difficulty in passing stumps. It was drawn
by one mule." Call at C. A. Reed's and seo
and purchase the machine.- Price, ?35 for
Chopper, by itself. No. 11 Cotton Chopper,
with double scraper and single sweep attach?
ment, only ?37.50.
