Proceedings of the Town Council in Rcla . lion to the Air Line Kailroad. ?Anderson C. H., S. a, May 81,1871. a meeting of the Town Council of An? derson, hold this day, the followiug Preamble Sand Resolutions were Unanimously adopted: Whereas, at a public meeting of the citizens of the town of Anderson, held in the Court House on the 27th insf., the Town Council was requested to subscribe the sum of Fifty Thou? sand Dollars to the capital stock of tho "Atlan? ta and Richmond Air Lino Railway Company," payable in tho bonds of said town, with a de? pot within its corporate limits. Therefore 1. Be it Resolved, That the Town Council will, if a majority of the legal voters* of the town vote m favor of such subscription, sub? scribe the stun of Fifty Thousand Dollars to the capital stock of said Company on the condi? tions, specified in this preamble. Resolved, That an election be held on Tuesday, the sixth day of June next, in the Coart House, from 9 o'clock a. m. until 4 o'clock p.'m.. and that all in favor of said sub? scription will vote 'Tor Subscription" and ihose opposed "Against. Subscription," and that ail legal voters shall bo entitled to cast one ballot m the election. ?. 5. -Resolved, That Wm. McGuHn, Thos. M. Whi te and W. W. Humphreys bo appointed inanagers to conduct the election, who at its, close shall count the ballots and certify the re? sult to Council -?
